Few words about Athens...

Did you know that Athens, one of the world's most ancient and renowned cities, is the capital of Greece? According to legend, the city was founded by Athena, the mythical Greek goddess. Athens is also considered the birthplace of democracy and was home to the famous Plato's Academy and Aristotle's Lyceum. Over the centuries, it has been a hub of philosophy, learning, and the arts.

Few words about Sounio...

The temple of Poseidon, the legendary god of the sea, proudly stands at the southernmost point of Attica, where the boundless Attic sky meets the vast Aegean Sea. Located atop the steep cliffs of the Cape of Sounio, this ancient temple offers visitors a glimpse into the myths and legends of antiquity. It's said that King Menelaus's boat stopped at Sounio on its return from Troy and that Aigeas met his unfortunate fate in the surrounding waters, which gave the region its name. The temple, built with local marble, was constructed by the people to honor Poseidon and safeguard the wealth from the nearby Lavrio mines.

Private Tour Experience Timeline

Acropolis Hill - Parthenon

One of the most remarkable and impressive landmarks of ancient Athens was its main sanctuary, which was primarily devoted to the city's patron deity, Athena.

Temple of Zeus

In Athens, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, also called the Olympieion, was constructed over a period of several centuries, beginning in 174 BCE and finally completed by the Roman Emperor Hadrian in 131 CE. One of the distinctive features of this temple is its exceptionally tall columns.

Panathenaic Stadium

The Panathenaic Stadium is an important cultural landmark of ancient Greece, with a history that is closely intertwined with the modern Olympic Games. It is also the location from which the Olympic Flame is conveyed to every edition of the Games.

Greek Parliament - Syntagma Square

Syntagma Square, situated in the heart of Athens, is a significant public area with a rich historical heritage. At the square's center, the Parliament building stands tall, overlooking the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The tomb is guarded round the clock by two Presidential Guards, known as the "Evzones," who wear a distinctive traditional attire.

Vouliagmeni Lake

A geological wonder, this place features an impressive rock formation, thermal springs, intricate underwater passageways, and abundant plant life. The lake took shape when the roof of the cave collapsed due to the erosive effects of the scalding water. The resulting scenery is truly one-of-a-kind.

Temple of Poseidon

To make the most of your visit, take a refreshing dip in the small beach located at the base of the temple of Poseidon or explore one of the nearby beaches in Legrena or Lavrio. Treat yourself to some delectable seafood and fresh fish at the local tavernas. Lastly, don't miss the opportunity to witness the breathtaking sunset and take in the magnificent view of the never-ending sea!
